I have seen things in this world that would make Isaac Newton crawl back into his mother's womb!
Score: 8/10
Thoughts: Impeccably moody visuals. A memorable scene for me was when Thomas was stranded in the middle of the woods, and the confetti like snow was just falling in slow motion; the silhouette of the carriage; the depth and complexity of the shadows. chef's kiss. I was totally unaware that this was similar to the plot of Bram Stoker's Dracula - apparently at the time of the original, they couldn't secure the rights to do Dracula so it just becamce Noseferatu and Orlok instead. Anyway, I wished they had gotten a fully German cast and did the movie in native languages - it was weird to have it switch into the local Gypsy language and then back into a mix of British/American accents with the main cast. But still definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of gothic horror.
